The idea to unite the unfinished industry in order to communicate the benefits of unfinished furniture originated in 2000 at the Unfinished Furniture Association (UFA) National Convention & Trade Show. A unique program needed to be put into place to allow the unfinished undustry to be successful in educating the public about our industry. This was how the Real Wood Furniture Finished Your Way™ brand awareness certification program began.

Being certified as a "Real Wood Furniture Finished Your Way" dealer indicates the Unfinished Furniture Association has certified that the retail store sells furniture made from Real Wood and excludes particleboard, MDF, and other processed wood materials.

Benefits to the customer include the assurance of quality, heirloom type furniture, durability, resilience and demonstratively different, and better product than what is typically available in the marketplace.
